Blue Sky and Cool Shadow

It's a rainy cold day and you're walking home. Everything's fine, you don't mine the rain, it's peaceful. Suddenly, you hear something from behind you. "Is someone there?" you ask. No one answers. "Hmmm?" you think as you keep walking. You have a feeling like someone is following you. You speed up a little and soon you stop, looking behind you. But…you do not see anyone down the empty street. "Why do I feel like something is about to happen," you ask yourself. You turn around and run into a very round, egg-shaped man. "Huh?" you wonder to yourself as you notice he is looking at you very intently. "Can....I help you?" you ask him. "Indeed you can, you can come with ME." he says. You just look at him with a funny expression." I don't think so, I don't go with strangers." you reply. He grabs your arm, "But you will!" he demands, and before you could run, scream, or call for help you black you.


..... You slowly open your eyes, everything is blurry...you remember being in excruciating pain before you blacked out, but can't remember how or why it happened. All you know is that now, you feel very, very sore. Your eyes come into focus and you find yourself in a small, caged room. "What the hell is going on?" you think out loud in a hesitant voice. An evil laugh rings out. "Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Good your awake, my dear." You see the egg-shaped man from before walk up to the cage." Where am I?! Why have you taken me?!" you yell at him. He just smiles at you with a menacing grin." You will be the key to helping me take out that pest. You can nullify his super being....ha-ha-ha-ha, it's perfect." He says with a gleam in eyes. "Let me go!! I want to go home!" you demand. He stops and looks at you…" Oh, you can never go home. You're stuck here now my dear.....forever." Your eyes grow wide in disbelief," What........but my....family....friends........my life..." "Don't worry. They won't even know your gone.....you have been, how shall we say…replaced." he smirks. "Replaced? …HOW COULD I BE REPLACED!?" you scream at him. "No reason to yell, my dear....it's simple. I've watch you for a long time now. You in your world, there's just something about you. You've somehow caused my scanners to go off the charts and this" he brings out a large red gem," began to react very strangely to you." It began to glow very brightly and then just went dull. "It still has unlimited power, but it's contained "He smiles. "What does that have to do with me being stuck here and being replaced?" you ask in anger." I can only bring a person from your world to mine for just a short, limited time, but not very long. It would cause both worlds to self-destruct. It would throw the balance off....So; I simply made a clone of you and put her in your world." He looks down at you. "Why didn't you just use her instead of me?" you ask, teeth showing in anger. He walks a little ways off with his hands behind his back."ANSWER ME!" you screamed again.
He turns around and glares at you. "Simple, she is not the original. Only the original has the power I seek. She is everything you are, so she makes a balance of the two worlds, but she is lacking the ora you possess. The essence you contain that reacted with my emerald. One there, one here, one different, one the same .Now my dear, I'm very tried now and have many plans to tend to. You just be a good little girl and stay there. We have much to do...ha-ha-hah." He places the red gem in a slot and walks out the door. You just sit there and try to comprehend what was just told to you. You can never go home. Your family, friends, everyone you know....gone and someone who is you, but not you, is living your life. Your world has been shattered. Your eyes fill with tears, un-controlled, they fall.........."How...how could he take me away....what......am i to do now........" you stand up and look around the cage that is now your home. You notice two of the bars are bent, just a little. "I know one thing......I am NOT going to be used to hurt anyone. If he wants me, then he'll have to find me…again…" You walk over to the bars and slip your arm through....then you notice your arm is covered with (whatever color you want) fur. "What...I'm....." you look at your hands and arms, then your legs. Your feel your face....it's not your human face. "He changed me into an animal!" You remember what he said…One there, one here, one different, one the same.
"Damn him…hahahahahah," you say as you start to laugh. "I'll just have to make the best of this situation.......right!" You never were one to take things lying down or give up. You are not about to start now. You squeeze you head out of the bars, then your body. You think to yourself, "Glad I was in this form or I would have never gotten out." You walk over to the red gem, glowing eerily from its perch. You look at it and you slowly reach out to touch it. It glows even brighter and begins to float to you. You place your hands around it and embrace it in your arms." I feel so warm." You whisper as you close your eyes and think "Everything…everything will be fine…somehow". You place the gem a bag you find next to a desk on the far side of the room. You go to the door and peek out. There are robots carrying some strange weapons everywhere, lasers hanging from the celling near surveillance cameras too. "I don't think I'm going out that way." You turn around and see a vent just above one of the huge computers in the room. "There!" you say with a smile as you carefully climb on the computer. You struggle with the cover, but manage to get it off and swiftly climb inside. Replacing the cover, you turn and begin to crawl your way through the tight space, happy to feel the breeze of the cooling units…
